New Tacoma CAFS Pumpers
WS Darley and Targhee Fire Services have delivered the first three of five 1500 gpm CAFS pumpers. The final two pumpers will be delivered first quarter 2010.
The new Darley Challenger CAFS pumpers utilize Spartan Gladiator chassis’, Darley AutoCAFS systems and Darley EM two-stage pumps.
The new engines follow more than ten years of reliable and effective Darley service to Tacoma Fire. Some front line Darley pumper units in Tacoma, such as Engine 10, have logged nearly 200,000 miles and 60,000 alarms.
WS Darley and City of Tacoma agreed to include Interlocal Agreement language allowing additional purchases by Washington municipalities on the contract.
